about

This is a song about coming of age. So much experience, still so much to do and learn. There is a myth about aging that at some point we are somehow supposed to feel we have ‘arrived’…..I don’t feel that way. Life just keeps unfolding, and I definitely hope that the best is still to come. Still, moments come and go...I must have had mine, but did I miss something? 'Well, how did I get here'
(to quote David Byrne)

lyrics

Well I must have had my moment
But I don't remember when.
And things are not so different now
To how they were back then.
But time passes in disguise
Blink and it is gone,
And in its wake you're wondering
Where it is you now belong.

Am I still the same within
And do I seem the same to you?
Look into these eyes and all you'll see
Is a Certain Shade of Blue.

Ask a stupid question
Pay no heed to the reply
He told her she was still
Beautiful in his eyes.
Lately I've been dreaming of the city
Dreaming of the sky
I dream an endless question
And the answer's always "Why?

Am I still the same within
And do I seem the same to you?
Look into these eyes and all you'll see
Is a Certain Shade of Blue.
Oh capture me and call me in
I'm tired of drifting through
Look into these eyes and you'll see
A Certain Shade of Blue.

I've been in hibernation
But I couldn't tell you why.
I haven't reached my destination
And I know that I must try.
I have to figure out
Just what it is I need to say.
'Cos I'm too young for my coffin,
Too warm for my own grave.

Am I still the same within
And do I seem the same to you?
Look into these eyes and all you'll see
Is a Certain Shade of Blue.
Oh capture me and call me in
I'm tired of drifting through
Look into these eyes and you'll see
A Certain Shade of Blue.
